Hi Charger Family! I am elated to join Crawford High School! I graduated and started my education career in FBISD so I’m happy to be back. I am a graduate of Dulles High School, Southwest Texas State University, and UH-Victoria Sugar Land. I also proudly earned my Licensed Professional Counselor license in 2016 as well. I started as a 1st grade teacher, Reading Recovery teacher, elementary school counselor, middle school counselor, and now high school counselor. I enjoy relaxing and having big fun with my sweet family. I have been married almost 25 years to my beloved husband Chris and we have 2 amazing children Sydney and Chris Jr. I also enjoy beaches, pools, Houston Texans games, and supporting kids emotionally, academically, and socially.

I’m Ms. Johnson! This will be my 20th year in education, all in FBISD, and my 6th year as a school counselor! Being a counselor at all levels has been exciting, but high school has proven to be the right place for me. Before becoming a school counselor, I was a classroom teacher for 14 years. I graduated from Sam Houston State University with a Bachelor of Science in Education and the University of Houston-Victoria with a Master's in Education, Counseling. I am the proud mother of a 15-year-old son who will be going into his second year of high school. Becoming a school counselor has always been a dream of mine because I love helping others. I am excited to be joining the Charger family and getting to know you all!

Brittaney Norflis (Last name Mc-Sl)

I am elated to join the FBISD family as your counselor. I am a proud graduate of Texas Southern University where I earned my Bachelor's Degree in Journalism. I furthered my education by obtaining my M.Ed in School counseling from University of St.Thomas, and MA in Marriage and Family Therapy. As an educator, I have taught 8th grade ELA, high school journalism and yearbook, and served as a junior high and high school counselor. In my spare time l love reading, traveling, game night with friends and family, watching sports, and giving back in my community. I look forward to cultivating a safe space, building relationships, and guiding students to becoming life long learners.

ShaQuaella Levy (Lead Counselor, Last name Sm-Z)

My name is ShaQuaella Levy, and I’m excited to join the Charger family as your new Lead School Counselor. I’m originally from Shreveport, Louisiana, and bring 10 years of experience in Education.

I hold a Master of Arts in Guidance Counseling from Louisiana Tech University and a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from the University of New Orleans. Outside of work, I love spending time with my husband and 8-year-old son, cheering on the New Orleans Saints and keeping up with my favorite show, Big Brother. I’m also a proud member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. I look forward to being part of history as we celebrate the very first graduating class of Chargers!

Professional School Counselors are available at Almeta Crawford High School to provide a Comprehensive Developmental Guidance Program and services for all students in the areas of:

Guidance Curriculum - In an effort to help students develop competence in essential life skills
Responsive Services - Provide intervention for immediate personal/social/emotional concerns
Individual Planning - Provide guidance to help students plan, monitor, and manage their personal, educational and career goals, and facilitate transition activities for post-secondary education and/or training
System Support - Support campus staff, parents, and the community to promote the educational, career, personal, and social development of students, as well as the Developmental Guidance Program

What is confidentiality?

Confidentiality is keeping information discussed between the student and the school counselor (or the parent and the counselor) private. Confidentiality is vital to the student-counselor relationship.

Are there times when the school counselor will break confidentiality?

Yes, there are certain instances when the school counselor is required to report confidential information, such as:

When a student reports someone is hurting them
When a student reports they are hurting someone else
When a student reports they are hurting themselves
With the student’s permission (often something that is uncomfortable for the student but useful for a parent or teacher to know)
